Important: Network fabric is not supported for repository backup or restore.
  • Use one or more IP address per media server
  • Use multiple media servers per node, if possible
  • For best performance:
    • Define a target group that includes all the media servers from the fabric
    • Make sure dsc.properties has validate.fabric=on

Hot Standby Nodes and Network Fabric

You have two options when using hot standby nodes and network fabric:
  • You can reconfigure the fabric by adding the standby node and removing the offline node.
  • For a maintenance free solution, you can set dsc.properties to validate.fabric=off. Restart the DSC after changing the properties file. The undefined paths use bynet to move the data. This solution degrades performance.
