A Unity cluster is logical cluster of both primary and standby Unity servers. A Unity cluster has key components and sends special alerts to Ecosystem Manager if there are issues with those components. The following are the Unity cluster metrics/resource types:

  • Watchdog
  • Endpoint
  • Sequencer
  • Data_sync
  • Table_state_change
  • Data_Dictionary
  • Heartbeat
  • Managed_Teradata
  • Heartbeat
  • Repository
  • Dispatcher
  • Threshold_violation
  • System

Ecosystem Manager does not monitor Unity Cluster metrics, but instead Unity sends alerts to Ecosystem Manager. The uniqueness of alerts are determined by the alert code. Alerts actions are defined in three different levels.

Level Description
Overall Unity cluster For any Unity cluster alert, take an action based on the severity (warning or critical) of the alert.
Metric or Resource Type For each Unity cluster or Resource Type, take an action based on the severity (warning or critical) of the alert.
Alert Code For each type of alert (based on the alert code), take an action based on the severity (warning or critical) of the alert.
