To provide the capacity for the largest number of values in the smallest space, non-hierarchical constraint values are defined in row level security tables as bit positions rather than as numeric values. The bit positions are represented in the table as hex code.

The method by which hex-encoded constraint values are loaded into an row level security table varies depending on the presence or absence of the OVERRIDE privilege.

Loading tables with non-hierarchical constraints in an OVERRIDE session requires special handling. See Example: Loading Tables with User OVERRIDE Privileges.
