The execution or implementation of a recommended Partitioned Primary Index (PPI) involves changes in physical structure of a table. Therefore, automatic table recreation is not supported by Teradata Index Wizard.
Instead, Teradata Index Wizard supplies a set of sample SQL statements that drop and re-create a table using the recommended partitioning.
Before using the sample SQL statements, carefully examine and modify them as needed for the specific system.
Notice:
Before re-creating a table, verify that sufficient space exists to temporarily hold two copies of the table to be re-created. Also consider other factors, such as the indexes that need to be re-created and privileges that need to be regranted.
