To configure a portlet on a Viewpoint VM, you must know the admin password for the Viewpoint portal. Obtaining that password is part of configuring Teradata Viewpoint.

You must have a site ID to configure or test Teradata ServiceConnect.

Although you can configure this software yourself, we recommend contacting Teradata instead. See https://www.teradata.com/Consulting/Velocity.
You must configure the Data Mover portlet if you plan to use Teradata Viewpoint for data movement.
  1. From the Azure portal, note the following of the Viewpoint VM:
    • The private IP address.
    • If applicable, either the public IP or public DNS.
  2. From your browser, display the Viewpoint portal log in screen.

    http://public-DNS or public-IP/c

where: public-DNS is the DNS host name or public-IP is the public IP address of the Viewpoint VM.
  3. Log in to the Viewpoint portal using administrator credentials.
  4. Open the Data Mover Setup portlet. Skip steps 4a through 4f if you used a Teradata ecosystem to launch Teradata Viewpoint and Data Mover.
    1. Next to Daemons, click .
    2. Enter a Daemon Nickname.
    3. [Optional] Activate this daemon for monitoring by selecting Enable daemon.
    4. Enter the Daemon IP/DNS value which is the private IP address of the Data Mover VM.
    5. Enter the Broker Port value which is 61616.
    6. Click Test Connection. If the operation is successful, appears. If the operation fails, appears. Verify the settings are correct and try again.
    7. Under Daemon Setup, click Permissions.
    8. Under Users and Roles, select the admin role and move it from the Available Users list to Selected Users list.
    9. Click Apply. If the operation is successful, appears. If the operation fails, appears. Verify the settings are correct and try again.
    10. Close the Data Mover Setup portlet.
  5. From the Viewpoint portal, click Add Content to add the Data Mover portlet. The Data Mover portlet in Teradata Viewpoint is ready to use for data movement. See the Teradata® Data Mover User Guide.
