The X view references these additional tables:

  • DBC.AccessRights
  • DBC.Owners
  • DBC.RoleGrants
  • DBC.Roles
  • When a database or table is created, the allocated disk space is divided evenly among all AMPs. The TableSize view returns one row of usage information for each AMP in the Teradata Database (or for all AMPs if the SUM aggregate is used).

    AccountName

    The AccountName column is the unexpanded default account name for the user or database. A database can only have one account. A user may have a default account plus other accounts. If there is a profile for the user, and it specifies a default account, that account superseded this account name.

    CurrentPerm

    The CurrentPerm column value includes all AMPs unless a specific AMP is requested.

    PeakPerm

    You can use the DBC.ClearPeakDisk macro to reset the PeakPerm column.

    The following SELECT statement is used to contrast the total disk space currently being used by the Employee table with its peak usage figure:

    ==> SELECT SUM(PeakPerm), SUM(CurrentPerm)
           FROM DBC.TableSizeV WHERE TableName=’Employee’ ;

    The query returns the following result:

           Sum(PeakPerm)   Sum(CurrentPerm)
           -------------   ----------------
             260,608            260,608
