To deploy a Vantage on Azure (run-it-yourself) ecosystem, you must use a solution template. The solution template can deploy a Teradata ecosystem, which simultaneously deploys additional Teradata products that are automatically configured to work together. The appropriate solution template depends on your purchase method and software packaging option.

Vantage license tiers include support for specific configurations. Each tier offers a different set of database features, system concurrency and node limits, and VM sizes.

After you deploy a Teradata ecosystem, you cannot add or remove products from a Teradata VM. If the VM does not include the products you want, stop and deallocate the VM, and then deploy a new Teradata VM that includes those products. You can also deploy some Teradata products separately. After deployment, some additional configuration might be required.

Some Teradata products, including Teradata Tools and Utilities, are deployed from outside the Marketplace. See Deploying Other Teradata Applications on Azure.
