DISABLE LOGONS

Purpose

The DISABLE LOGONS command prevents users from logging on to the Teradata Database on the network using the gateway for the selected host group.

Syntax

Usage Notes

The default setting of the logon flag is enabled. However, after a Teradata Database system restart, all host groups that were disabled remain disabled.

Any application that attempts to log on after DISABLE LOGONS results in the following error message:

Note: Sessions already logged on are not affected by the DISABLE LOGONS command.

Before using the DISABLE LOGONS command, you must select the host group from which the session is running using the SELECT HOST command. For information, see “SELECT HOST” on page 664.

For additional information, see “ENABLE LOGONS” on page 657.
