Determining LOB Support

A query type QEPIFLOB (18) can be used by an applications to determine whether LOB support exists at the database. When applications set this query item and make a call to DBCHQE, it will return:

  • “Y” - if the server supports the LOB data types
  • “N” - if the server does not support the LOB data types
