Rules and Restrictions for Modifying Unpartitioned NoPI Tables
ALTER TABLE support for unpartitioned NoPI tables is identical to that for primary‑indexed
tables with the following exceptions.
You cannot add a permanent journal to an unpartitioned NoPI table or to a column‑partitioned
You cannot add an identity column to an unpartitioned NoPI table definition.
You cannot partition the primary index of an unpartitioned NoPI table because it has
no primary index to partition; however, NoPI tables can be partitioned.
You cannot alter a populated unpartitioned NoPI table to have a primary index, nor
can you alter a populated primary‑indexed table to have no primary index.
