An Amazon VPC allows you to provision a separate, isolated section of the AWS cloud where you can launch AWS resources in a virtual network that you define. You control your virtual networking environment, including selecting your own IP address range, creating subnets, configuring network gateways, and more.
In keeping with best practices related to security, do not use the default Amazon VPC when launching Teradata Aster Analytics on AWS instances. The default VPC is open to the AWS public cloud. To create a VPC, see Create a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) under Setting Up in the Amazon User Guide for Linux Instances.
