Select rules or Select data sources are used to read or calculate values based on data sources which can then be mapped into workflow-level variables or customer list-level variables. Since a variable can only contain a single value, note that only the first row of the underlying query will be returned to the output parameters when the rule or data source is executed.

  1. From Map and Calculate, do any of the following to create output parameters:
    Option Action
    Identify a source column in the output table
    1. Click in Select a field and select a source column.
    2. Select "" to populate Output Parameter, Type, Length, and Precision based on the source column.
    3. [Optional] Select "" to add more source columns to the table.
      To use a source column more than one time in an output table, map the second use of the source column as a formula and give it a unique alias.
    Identify or create a formula to populate the output table
    1. Select "" > Formula.
    2. Enter a Formula Name.
    3. Select a Type.
    4. In the Formula Builder, select the Fields, Functions, or Variables tabs and select options to create a formula.
    5. Select Save and Close.
    6. Select "" to populate Output Parameter, Type, Length, and Precision based on the formula information.
  2. [Optional] Include a variable in a column:
    Option Action
    Create a variable
    1. Select "" > Formula.
    2. In the Formula Builder, select Variable.
    3. By Rule Variables or Data Source Variables, select "" .
    4. Complete variable information.
    5. Select Create Variable.
    Edit a variable
    1. Select "" > Formula.
    2. In the Formula Builder, select Variables.
    3. Hover over a Rule Variable or Data Source Variable, then select "" > Edit
    4. Update the variable information.
    5. Select Save Variable.
    Delete a variable
    1. Select "" > Formula.
    2. In the Formula Builder, select Variables.
    3. Hover over a Rule Variable or Data Source Variable, then select "" > Delete.
    4. Select Yes.
  3. Select Continue.
