An MDS repository must exist on the system.
  1. Create a backup of the MDS repository database using the standard Teradata BAR utilities.
  2. [Optional] Upgrade to the latest version of Teradata Database.
  3. [Optional] If you upgraded Teradata Database, restore the MDS repository database using the standard Teradata BAR utilities.
  4. Install the most recent MDS software components on a client that needs to access the MDS repository in that environment.
  5. Use the metamigrate utility to migrate the MDS repository to the same version as the client.

The migration will complete in several minutes.

  6. Install the most recent MDS software components on any additional clients that need to access the MDS repository.
If you are using a previous release of Repository Explorer, the Master Data Manager database is not migrated. If you are installing and using the latest release of Repository Explorer, you must create the latest MDM schema. See Configuring the MDS Repository Explorer for details.
