  1. In MetaManager, right-click the system that will have Automatic DIM Update enabled and select DIM Update. The DIM Update dialog box appears.
  2. Select the Enable DIM Update checkbox, then click OK.
  3. Select the Recovery on Startup checkbox (or define the recovery schedule by selecting Schedule), then click OK.

The MDS Recovery Table keeps track of the database name for each DDL that occurs while the DDL Gateway is down. If RSG detects that the DDL Gateway is down, RSG notifies the Teradata Database system to begin writing to the table. When the DDL Gateway comes back up, it reads the table and marks each of the databases in the table as “out of sync.” The DDL Gateway resynchronizes each database if Recovery on Startup was selected or at a scheduled recovery time if that was selected.

The recovery database is always DBC. The name of MDS Recovery Table is mdsrecoverytbl.

The user of the Teradata Database system that is specified in the System Object must have SELECT and DELETE privileges to the MDS Recovery Table.
