A Teradata MultiLoad job script, or program, is a set of Teradata MultiLoad commands and Teradata SQL statements that makes the following changes to specified target tables and views in the database:
  • Insert new rows
  • Update the contents of existing rows
  • Delete existing rows

Each Teradata MultiLoad job includes a number of support commands that establish and maintain the Teradata MultiLoad support environment, and a number of task commands that perform the actual database insert, update, or delete operations.

Though a single Teradata MultiLoad job can include a number of different tasks, limiting the jobs to a single task for each invocation of Teradata MultiLoad provides the highest assurance of a successful restart/recovery operation if a system failure interrupts the job.
