Users can store a Teradata Database password using an alias. For example:

  1. Log on to a Teradata client system and obtain a command prompt.
  2. Run the tdwallet tool on the client to add a Teradata Database user password to the user wallet.

    For example, on a UNIX client:

    $ tdwallet add  password_alias

    where password_alias is a character string. For example:

    PWalias1
  3. At the system prompt, enter the Teradata Database password that corresponds to the password alias, for example:
    MyTDPassword

For detailed information on Teradata Wallet installation, see the Teradata Tools and Utilities Installation Guidefor the client operating system.
