- Create the character set by defining:
- The external-to-internal and internal-to-external hexadecimal codes for both lowercase and uppercase translation for each character in the set.
- A unique character set name.
- A unique identifier (use a value in the range 65 to 126).
- Load the character set information into theDBC.CharTranslationsV. See Loading a Custom Client Character Set.
- Enable the character set. See Activating a Client Character Set.A maximum of 16 character sets can be active at one time.
- Optionally assign the character set as the default. See the section beginning with System Determination of Client Character Set.
