After the application program regains control from a call to DBCHCL for the Connect function, the logical session id is available in the DBCAREA in Output Session Id. Before using the DBCAREA again to call DBCHCL for the session, the application program must copy the value to Input Session Id.
DBCHCL places Output Session Id in the DBCAREA as soon as DBCHCL is called for a session-generating function. Thus Output Session Id is available after the application program regains control from DBCHCL, even in a connect operation.
Compare with Output DBC Session Id. Note that both the database computer and CLI have a number for each session and that the two numbers are not identical.
