In Teradata Database, you must create database objects to contain other objects such as data tables, indexes, views, and macros, as well as users and other lower level databases. The disk space that you assign to a database determines the size and number of objects it can contain. Databases implicitly own and have privileges on all objects created within their assigned space. Individual objects contained in a database do not require a space allocation, but you can specify space limits for some objects.
