If you are using a Hive connector on a Cloudera implementation of Hadoop and want to enable logging, you must change the primary group for Hive users to make sure QueryGrid infrastructure logging functions work properly on CDH clusters.

If you are using a Hive connector on any Kerberized Hadoop cluster and want to enable logging, each user corresponding to a Kerberos principal must also have the primary group of ‘hadoop’.

This task is only required if you want to enable logging.
  1. Run the following command in Linux: cmdall usermod -g hadoop hive
