To perform an elastic operation, you must be assigned to the Site Super Admin or Site Admin role. See Managing Users.

During an elastic operation, your site is not available. Schedule a time that minimally impacts users.

  1. Log in to the Console at https://console.vantage.teradata.com and access your site.
  2. Under Advanced SQL Engine, click EDIT to perform any of the following elastic operations:
    Operation Action
    Stop/Start Adjust TCore consumption by stopping or starting the Vantage instance. Stopped instances do not incur TCore, compute, or memory costs; however, they continue incurring storage costs (measured in TB).
    Scale Up/Down Adjust the instance size to Small, Medium, or Large.
    Scaling up incurs an additional cost.
    Scale Out/In Adjust the instance quantity by 1x, 2x, or 4x for a total of 2-64 nodes.
    Scaling out incurs an additional cost.
    Expand Volume Increase the EBS volume (raw, permanent storage) in 1 TB increments, up to 72 TB per instance.
    After you expand storage, you cannot decrease it.
