Modify the HOSTS File
If your site does not use a DNS, define the IP address and the Teradata Database name to use in the system HOSTS file of the workstation.
To Define the System IP Address and Teradata Database Name
1 Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the HOSTS file in the subdirectory of the directory in which Windows is installed.
2 Open the HOSTS file in a text editor.
3 Add the IP address and the Teradata Database name with the COP1 suffix.
4 Save and exit the file.
