The precompiler recognizes GRAPHIC type literals in the PL/I language in the following form: <‘###’G>, where the letter G is the multi-byte character set Latin capital G, each ’ (single quotation mark) is a single byte character, ‘<’ is the Shift-Out metacharacter, ‘>’ is the Shift-In metacharacter, and ### is the quoted MBC string of valid kanji EBCDIC ideograms.
