A Failure parcel indicates that the active transaction at the time of the error has been rolled back. In Teradata transaction mode, this includes any requests within the scope of the transaction that had been completed successfully prior to the error. If a failure occurs during the processing of a multi-statement request, all statements within the request are rolled back as well as the transaction.

In ANSI transaction mode, a Failure response parcel rolls back only the statement causing the error unless that error threatens the integrity of the database, in which case the entire transaction is rolled back. Statements which have not been executed will be discarded.
