TDP3989 CAUSES: OUTPUT("reason"), INPUT("reason")

Explanation:

In response to a TDP 'DISPLAY NP' command when communication with the Teradata Database has been lost, this message displays the most recent reasons detected for the communication loss in both the input and output directions. If no reason exists for one direction "NONE" is displayed; otherwise one of the following reasons is displayed: '(INVALID TYPE)' if an unexpected type of problem occurred. 'STACK NOT STARTED' if the system TCPIP stack is not available (IBM EIBMBADTCPNAME error code). 'STACK TIMEOUT' if the system TCPIP stack timed out the request (network ETIMEDOUT error code). 'CLIENT PATH CLOSED' if the system TCPIP stack had closed the TDP socket (network socket RECV return code or network ECONNABORTED error code; as an initial error, ECONNABORTED can result from failure of the network; as a secondary error ECONNABORTED can result from either a network socket RECV following a previous network error or TDP STOP NP command, for both of which TDP issues a network socket SHUTDOWN, causing the RECV to fail). 'SERVER PATH CLOSED' if communication with the server was lost (EPIPE or ECONNRESET error code). 'SERVER PATH CLOSED' if communication with the server was lost (network EPIPE or ECONNRESET error code). 'USE REFUSED' if Database is not operational, or the NP's IP address is not configured by the Database (network ECONNREFUSED error code). '(UNEXPECTED CONDITION)' if an unexpected condition was returned from TDP system services. 'ALREADY CONNECTED' if the server indicated that the NP is in use. 'ALREADY CONNECTING' if the server indicated that the NP is in use. 'STOPPED BY DATABASE' if the server indicated that the Database was restarting. 'DATABASE UNRESPONSIVE' if the server did not respond to attempts to communicate. '(INVALID E-CONDITION)' if an unexpected result was returned from the server NP. 'FAULTY RESPONSE' if the response to a reconnect was malformed. 'NOT OPERATIONAL' if the server indicated that the NP was not yet operational. 'NOT RECONNECTABLE' if the server indicated that the NP could not be reconnected. 'PREVIOUSLY DETECTED' if a communication problem has been detected when receiving data, and is now assumed for sending data. '(INVALID N-CONDITION)' if an unexpected reason occurred.
