A cluster is a group of 2-8 AMPs that provide fallback capability for each other. A copy of the rows for one AMP is stored on one or more other AMPs in the same cluster. In a large system, you would probably create many AMP clusters. However, whether large or small, the concept of a cluster exists even if all the AMPs are in one cluster.
