Retain Business Information

This MDS option allows you to retain existing business information across the recreate of a table or view when the table is commonly loaded in Teradata through a DROP/CREATE. Retain Business Information allows you to retain tables, views and their component objects in a dormant state after they have been deleted. The objects will not be removed from the repository but they will not be viewable until they are reactivated. When reactivated the business definitions and other relationships defined before the object was deleted will also be reactivated.

To enable Retain Business Information:

1 In the Retain Business Information section of the Repository Configuration screen, select the The Feature is Enabled check box.

To disable the feature, clear the check box.

Note: Disabling the feature will permanently delete dormant objects and their associated business information from the repository.

2 Click Apply Changes.

A repository with Retain Business Information support enabled will require more PERM and SPOOL space on the Teradata Database than the same repository created without Retain Business Information support enabled.
