Loading Client Load Metamodel (CLM) Data

In addition to the Teradata Database physical and business information, Teradata MDS can store and maintain information about Teradata client load jobs and their association to physical metadata. For instance, when was this column last loaded, what utility was used to load this information, and so on.

The Client Load Metamodel (CLM) is the MDS metamodel used to store the Teradata client load utility information. This metamodel will have relationships to the columns and tables in the DIM, so that the metadata extracted from the client load scripts can be related to the actual column and table metadata.

The Teradata MDS metaclient utility can be used to scan Multiload, Fastload, and TPump load scripts and output files, extracting information and populating the repository CLM. This utility runs on Windows or Linux. For detailed instructions, see “metaclient” on page 99.
