Use only Dell drives for replacement drives. When a system arrives from the factory, all Dell drives are of the same capacity. Replacement Dell drives do not need to have matching firmware versions.
When installing replacement storage drives, drive sizes cannot be mixed. For capacity data nodes and balanced data nodes, a failed 4 TB drive must be replaced with a 4 TB drive, and a failed 8 TB drive must be replaced with an 8 TB drive.
In capacity data nodes and balanced data nodes, 4 TB drives are SED drives. 8 TB drives are non-SED drives.
