You can configure advanced settings to improve performance and restrict job option choices for Data Mover portlet users. You can configure the maximum load slots and target system restrictions for a daemon. You can also add and configure additional ARC users and designate force direction pairs.
  1. In the Daemons column, click the name of the daemon you want to configure.
  2. In the Daemon Setup column, click Advanced.
  3. Enter the Maximum QG T2T Tasks to designate how many QueryGrid T2T tasks can be executed at the same time. The default value is read from the daemon. The permitted range is 0 to 1000 inclusive.
  4. Enter the Maximum QG T2H Tasks to designate how many QueryGrid T2H tasks can be executed at the same time. The default value is read from the daemon. The permitted range is 0 to 1000 inclusive.
  5. Enter the Maximum TDCH Tasks to designate how many TDCH tasks can be executed at the same time. The default value is read from the daemon. The permitted range is 0 to 1000 inclusive.
  6. [Optional] To allow users to specify different character sets when copying data in a job, select the Support different character set for copying check box.
  7. [Optional] To designate how many Teradata PT API load or update jobs can be run against target systems at the same time, do the following under Maximum Load Slots:
    1. Enter the Default Maximum Load Slots, and click Add Load Slot Limit. The default value is read from the daemon. The permitted range is 1 to 99999 inclusive.
    2. Select the System from the list and enter the Maximum Slots. The number defaults to the system default. The permitted range is 1 to 99999 inclusive.
    3. [Optional] Click to designate the maximum slots available for another system.
    4. [Optional] Click to remove maximum slots designation from a system.
  8. [Optional] To prevent a system from being available for selection as a target system, select it from the Valid targets box under Target System Restrictions and click the button to move it to the Never a Target list. An error occurs if a Data Mover user tries to designate an excluded system as a target.
  9. [Optional] To add a user with permission to run jobs using the Teradata ARC utility, do the following:
    1. Under Additional ARC Users for Target System, click Add User.
    2. Select the System from the list and enter the username.
    3. [Optional] Click to add another Teradata ARC user for the target system.
    4. [Optional] Click to remove a Teradata ARC user from the target system.
  10. [Optional] To define the source and target systems in a system pair, do the following:
    1. Under Force Direction Pairs, click Add Pair and select the systems from the Source and Target lists.
    2. To allow any statistics in the target database to be returned to the source, select the Allow Stats Back check box.
    3. [Optional] Click to add another system pair.
    4. [Optional] Click to remove a system pair.
    Users cannot switch the direction after systems are paired as source and target databases.
  11. Click Apply.
