  1. You can restart the services in master or slave mode by doing the following:
    Option Instruction
    master mode Log onto the daemon server that needs to be set as master and run the following command:

    dmcluster setmaster

    The daemon on the server from which the command is being executed is set as master. The agents associated with the master daemon and the sync service are started in master mode. All services on the remote site are shut down and the sync service on the remote site is restarted in slave mode.

    slave mode Log onto the daemon server that needs to be set as slave and run the following command:

    dmcluster setslave

    The daemon on the server from which the command is being executed is stopped. The agents associated with this daemon are stopped. The sync service is restarted in slave mode. All components on the remote side are restarted in master mode.

    You can use the setmaster or setslave command any number of times, on either of the daemon servers, without having to modify the failover.properties file on either server.
