Users must make sure that Open-Source R software is installed and working on the Aster Database cluster. Detailed installation instructions can be found in Installing Open-Source R on the Aster Cluster. The Open-Source R software is installed on the Aster Database cluster under the /opt/aster/third-party/R folder known as the sandbox area.
It is recommended that users perform a soft shutdown of the Aster Database cluster and backup this R folder from the queen node to a backup or safe location before proceeding.
For AX platform, R scripts installed by the user are removed on restart.

Backup the R sandbox area /opt/aster/third-party/R.
#cp –rp /opt/aster/third-party/R <backup directory path>
