Column names, Column values, literal elements and literal parameter elements may be dragged and dropped into the text area of the Arguments or Name/Value Pairs text area for the SQL-Map Reduce and Table Operator functions with different effects, outlined below.

Menu options to Quote Each Item, Don’t Add Quotes or Cancel become available when elements of the following types and sources are dragged into either the Arguments or Name/Value Pairs text area:
  • One or more Columns in the area on the left of the Variable Creation main screen
  • One or more Character Strings displayed in the Values area above Columns
  • One or more Numbers displayed in the Values area above Columns
  • Number Literal/Parameter elements
  • String Literal/Parameter elements
  • Text Literal/Parameter elements (if quoted, these will separates on commas)
Elements of the following types do not give quoting options but appear as they would when converted to a string:
  • Dates displayed in the Values area above Columns
  • All Literal and Literal Parameter Elements other than String, Number and Text
