If the Full Disk Encryption operation is selected, the Choose Hardware step verifies that the hardware selected meets the FDE requirements:
- NetApp Requirements
- Controller type 2660
- Controller type 5501
- Controller version 7.80 or higher
- Controller type 5600 with Controller version 8.20 or higher
- Controller type 5700 with Controller version 8.50 or higher
- Controller type 280X with Controller version 8.30 or higher
- DotHill Requirements
- Controller firmware version CF101XXXX is not supported
- 7200/7210 IntelliBase Requirements
- PERC H730 Controller
- PERC H740 Controller
If a different controller type is found or if the required firmware versions are not found, a warning appears indicating the arrays are not supported for FDE.

For Secure Erase, only non-boot, encryption-capable drives are displayed in the list of Available Storage.
