Teradata® QueryGrid™ is a cohesive data fabric that spans multiple systems. It provides the flexibility to integrate different file systems, operating systems, data types, analytic engines, and system design characteristics. Query execution is secure and optimized across multiple processing engines and repositories.
Teradata SQL Engine to Other Supported Analytics Platform Engines
With QueryGrid™, you have the capability to blend multiple systems from the Teradata Workload-Specific Platform Family to maximize performance, availability, and data value, while also scaling the analytical ecosystem. Teradata systems work together to deliver consistent performance by sending workload controls between systems. Administrators and users manage the system with a single view of cross-platform resource utilization through an integrated "Explain" plan and common administration tools.
Adaptive Optimizer Capability
Teradata SQL Engine uses an Adaptive Optimizer which delivers high performance queries across multiple systems and vendors, and mixed technology ecosystems. This is accomplished by dynamically collecting statistics when query results are returned from remote systems. These results are coupled with incremental query planning to produce fast and efficient query possible, even when using data from diverse technologies like the Oracle relational database system, Hadoop, or a NoSQL MongoDB database.
