Before Teradata SQL Engine can access database components, they are authenticated, using these methods:
|Kerberos||Allows external authorization of database users.|
|Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)||Allows authentication of database users against a centralized LDAP directory rather than using credentials maintained in the data dictionary.|
|Single Sign-on (SSO)||Allows users of Teradata SQL Engine on Windows systems to access Teradata SQL Engine using their authorized network usernames and passwords.|
|Teradata Wallet||Securely stores passwords for Teradata database authentication, which can be automatically retrieved at run time and submitted to the database.|
