Before Teradata SQL Engine can access database components, they are authenticated, using these methods:
Authentication Method | Description |
---|---|
Kerberos | Allows external authorization of database users. |
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) | Allows authentication of database users against a centralized LDAP directory rather than using credentials maintained in the data dictionary. |
Single Sign-on (SSO) | Allows users of Teradata SQL Engine on Windows systems to access Teradata SQL Engine using their authorized network usernames and passwords. |
Teradata Wallet | Securely stores passwords for Teradata database authentication, which can be automatically retrieved at run time and submitted to the database. |
