After downloading, archiving, and decompressing the ESDM files, refer to the Install/Upgrade Software chapter in the Parallel Upgrade Tool (PUT) Reference, B035-5716 to install the software.
If installing Teradata on a new system, the appropriate patches must be installed along with the base packages prior to restoring the configuration.
- Check the /home/esdm/pkginfo.log file on the shipped system to identify the patch levels that the system was originally staged with. If this file is not currently available, refer to the all_check.doc file sent with the Open Me First email sent to the CSR. This document will have a listing of the files installed on the system prior to removal by the ESDM process. Refer to the pkg_sync section of the file.
- Download any required patches.
- Install the patches along with the base packages downloaded from ESD.
- Restore the staged configuration files.
