The new Teradata Database feature, Always On, includes a Redrive component. The Redrive component enables Teradata Databases to store incoming SQL requests from client products so the Teradata Database can automatically restart them. Teradata Tools and Utilities clients should not have to handle retries of SQL requests, because Teradata Database automatically reissues them.
Teradata ARC does not support the Redrive component for the Teradata Database 14.0 implementation of Always On. Teradata ARC reissues SQL request retries the same as it has in previous versions.
Teradata ARC does not support the Recoverable Network Protocol (RNP) component of Always On.
