Join and hash indexes might not be recreated automatically when restoring a cluster archive because data in the base tables is not restored until all phases of the cluster restore are complete.

  1. Restore the dictionary and cluster archives.

During the dictionary restore, a warning appears for any join or hash indexes that could not be recreated.

  2. After all cluster archives have been restored, issue a BUILD statement on any databases or tables involved in the cluster archive.
  3. After the BUILD statement completes, issue a RESTORE DICTIONARY TABLES statement using the dictionary archive file. Specify only the join and hash index objects that could not be rebuilt.
