All drives in a 6800C system are HDDs.

The following configurations are supported for a coexistence 6800C 1+1 clique with HDDs:

Coexistence with 6650

Variable Configuration
  • One Teradata Database node plus one hot standby node to two disk arrays (1:2 ratio)
  • Up to 30 AMPS per node (APN) in multiples of 2
  • Up to 180 HDDs per active node in multiples of 10 (no mixed drive types or sizes in each disk array)
  • Used with 6650
  • Cannot be upgraded to SSDs
Variable Configuration
  • One Teradata Database node plus one hot standby node to four disk arrays (1:4 ratio)
  • Up to 56 AMPs per node (APN) in multiples of 2
  • Up to 280 HDDs per active node in multiples of 10 (no mixed drive types or sizes in each disk array)
  • Used with 6650
  • Cannot be upgraded to SSDs

For a 6800C 1+1 clique with two disk arrays, coexisting with a 6650H or 6650C system, the following guidelines apply:

  • One TPA node plus one hot standby node to two disk arrays (1:2 ratio)
  • Up to 30 AMPs per node
  • Up to 180 drives per node (no mixed drive types or sizes in each disk array)
  • Drives per node must be a multiple of 10
  • Up to 90 drives per array in 2 arrays

For a 6800C 1+1 clique with four disk arrays, coexisting with a 6650H or 6650C system, the following guidelines apply:

  • One TPA node plus one hot standby node to four disk arrays (1:4 ratio)
  • Up to 56 AMPs per node
  • Up to 280 drives per node (no mixed drive types or sizes in each disk array)
  • Drives per node must be a multiple of 10
  • Up to 70 drives per array in 4 arrays
