  • Enough rows contain a compressible value (for example, null, zero, blank, or constant value) in the compressed field to exceed the break-even point. For details, see “Break-even point for value compression” in Teradata Vantage™ - Database Design, B035-1094.
  • The shortened row length results in the elimination of one or more data blocks.
