  1. Before installation, lay down the vented and cutout tiles according to the floor layout.

  2. Request that all dedicated computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units be turned on.
    This makes sure airflow characteristics above and below the raised floor are consistent before and after installation.
  3. Measure the flow rate from every vented tile.
    Heat load differences before and after installation produce measurement differences in temperature and humidity levels. Therefore, temperature and humidity measurements taken before installation are of limited use.
  4. Measure and record flow rates from tile cutouts that do not have brush seals.
    This allows you to understand the extent of air leakage.
  5. Compare the flow rate through vented tiles to the chilled air requirement guidelines.
    If the airflow measurements do not meet the environmental requirements, it may be necessary to rearrange the floor layout, or increase the number of vented tiles per cabinet.
  6. After the equipment installation is completed, repeat the air flow measurements to verify pre-installation measurements.
