The ability to enter an operating system command without logging off from the Teradata Database or ending a BTEQ session is helpful when making interactive requests to a Teradata Database or developing and debugging scripts and macros. In these situations, for example, it might be helpful to verify the name of a file, or check the contents of a directory on the client system.
