SAS 750 System Network Topology for a 2-Cabinet Teradata Connect System

  • The system consists of one base and one expansion cabinet.
  • Each cabinet contains a combination of SAS HPA Worker nodes, SAS Mid-tier nodes, and SAS App Server nodes.
  • Each cabinet in the appliance can contain up to four Teradata Connect nodes for use as a gateway to a BYNET V4 or BYNET-Over-Ethernet fabric.
  • The base cabinet contains a System VMS for server management.
  • The expansion cabinet contains a Cabinet VMS for server management.
  • System is scalable up to 33 nodes and servers in any combination for appliances connected to a UDA fabric.
  • System is scalable up to 36 nodes and servers in any combination for appliances with Teradata Connect nodes.
  • Two 36-port InfiniBand switches in Cabinet 1 provide redundant InfiniBand networks (Network-0 and Network-1).
  • Each node contains a dual port InfiniBand adapter that connects to the InfiniBand switches in Cabinet 1.
  • Individual optical InfiniBand cables are used to connect nodes in Cabinet 2 to the InfiniBand switches in Cabinet 1.
