Phase currents are not balanced on three-phase AC feeder boxes. If you have more than one cabinet with the three-phase AC feeder box, you need to rotate the phase connections on each outlet to minimize the aggregate site imbalance. The following table provides information on how to connect the phases to the receptacle to rotate the phase connections.
With a three-phase Wye AC feeder box, the phase imbalance results in a current on the neutral wire.
Cabinet # | Phase #1 | Phase #2 | Phase #3 |
---|---|---|---|
Cabinet #1 | L1 | L2 | L3 |
Cabinet #2 | L3 | L1 | L2 |
Cabinet #3 | L2 | L3 | L1 |
Cabinet #4 | L1 | L2 | L3 |
Cabinet #5 | L3 | L1 | L2 |
Cabinet #6 | L2 | L3 | L1 |
