Change the password in the database for Teradata, Oracle, MySQL and SQL Server databases. It might not be possible to change the password on all database systems, like Microsoft Access. Changing the password in the Database does not change a password that is stored in the ODBC data source definition. Storing a password in the ODBC data source is not secure and is not recommended.
  1. Select Tools > Change Password.
  2. Change the password:
    1. Enter the current password.
    2. Enter the new password.
Do not use the semicolon (;) or the equal sign (=) when changing database passwords if any ODBC or .NET-based applications are being used.
    3. Re-enter the new password to confirm it.
