Remote authentication is a user service (RADIUS) networking protocol, operating on port 1812, providing centralized authentication, authorization, and accounting management for users who connect and use a network service.

If you want to use the RADIUS server, complete the Remote Authentication settings as follows:

  1. In the Web Client, select "" > Settings > Remote Authentication.
  2. Select Enabled and complete the following:
    Setting Description
Host The host IP address or host name of the proxy server.

If the IP address is static, type the IP address of the RADIUS server.

If the IP address is not static, type the name of the machine hosting the RADIUS server.

Port If using the default port for RADIUS authentication, enter 1812.

If not using the default port for RADIUS authentication, enter the port number being used (this value must fall within the range of 1 to 65536).

Validate Host If host validation is required, select Validate Host.
Accounting Port If using the default account port for RADIUS authentication, enter 1813.

If not using the default account port for RADIUS authentication, enter the port number being used (this value must fall within the range of 1 to 65536).

Request Retries Enter the total number of times the agent may submit a request to authenticate a remote session. The default number of retries is 5 and the number of retries must be between 0 and 10.
Request Timeout Enter the number of seconds that the agent waits for the RADIUS server to respond before retrying the request. The default number of seconds is 3.
