|System||A system is the highest level of organization where operations can be performed across the Server Management domain from the Java Client Tree View.|
|Collective||A collective represents a set of cabinets and components managed by a specific CMIC. A CMIC can manage multiple collectives.Collective numbers must be unique within a Server Management domain.|
|Cabinet||Cabinets represent physical hardware racks for on-premises systems, or logical groupings of nodes in virtual/cloud systems.
Cabinet numbers must be unique within a Server Management domain.
|Chassis||Each cabinet contains a set of chassis. These chassis can be physical or virtual. In some cases a System or Cluster-level software plug-in may be designated as a chassis for representation in the Java Client Tree View.
Chassis are normally numbered in a predetermined manner per cabinet and numbers must be unique within a cabinet. For example, for on-premises systems, the chassis are numbered to reflect their relative placement in the physical cabinet.
|Chassis Subcomponents||Physical chassis may be further refined into subcomponents that may be reflected in further drill-down in the Tree View.|
|VMs (Virtual Machines)||VMs reside on physical node chassis such as VMSs, but do not appear as part of the physical node on the Tree View To determine which VMS contains which VMs, review the VMS properties on the VM, or see Determining Which VM Is Hosted by a VMS.
VMs are assigned numbers through the CMIC Configuration file, just like any other chassis. They are typically assigned numbers in the higher range to distinguish from physical chassis.
