Teradata SET captures emulation information in a variety of file types, as described in the table below. All of the files created during export, import, and pack operations are saved in the file and directory specified under Export to in the Export from Teradata Database dialog box. All exported parameters are stored in a control (.mcf) file that:
- Tracks elements (such as the object definition) that are selected and exported
- Contains pointers to the raw data files that are created during the export process
- Contains a version number, release number, and the date and time the system information was exported from the target data source
