To stop and later restart a Aster Database VM, you must first stop the database to avoid incurring charges.

Stop the database.
To shut down Aster Database use the softshutdown command. Execute this command on the queen node as the root user:
# ncli system softshutdown
Putting the database in this state may take a number of minutes. -
Wait for the database to shut down.
Use the system show and node show commands to check the Aster Database operational state.

To check the queen’s status, execute this command on the queen node as the root user:
# ncli system show

To check the status of all nodes in the cluster, use this command:
# ncli node show

To check the queen’s status, execute this command on the queen node as the root user:
- From the Azure portal, stop the VMs associated with the Teradata Aster Analytics on Azure.
